Women in lace

Artists organise exhibitions, gallery owners draw, paint or create sculptures. Where there were once restrictive roles there is now great freedom. Evelyne Walker, founder of the Vitrine gallery, has also been creating art for more than 20 years. Many connoisseurs know her series on women in traditional costumes and artisans. She now shows us eight nobly dressed women with wide hats or splendidly adorned hairdos; expressive faces framed with seemingly chiseled surfaces following embroidery patterns. An installation around a gilded abbess figure and a pop-up monastery shop complete the eight women’s portraits. The artist’s homemade essences, oils and compotes accompany you through the long and cold winter, and can be purchased at the vernissage.
