At the age of seven some boys play with tractors and want to become a pilot. Thurry Schläpfer, a Lucerne artist and son of a press photographer, has been attracted by photography from an early age. In 1970, when he was just about 11 years old, he published his first picture. It captures the dynamics of a suburban soap box race. Schläpfer has been on the move ever since, mostly accompanied by his SLR camera Nikon F3, preferably outdoors, always in search of the subject that reveals the great and whole to him.
