Water, mountains, light
"They, the unshakeable, stand there as calmly as the scenery of a theatre", wrote Goethe in Dichtung und Wahrheit about the mountains around Lake Lucerne. Lucerne artist Bruno Müller-Meyer gazes into this grandiose stage space every day from his studio on the Horw peninsula. He observes the changing moods and weather conditions at different times of the day and year and stages the landscape in ever new variations - preferably in the pale light before sunrise. There are no people in Müller-Meyer's contemporary Alpine paintings. They would be people who just happen to be "on the paper", as Goethe wrote. They would interfere with these compositions of lake, mountains and sky.

Her voice and expression seem to be straight out of the era of Edith Piaf, Yves Montand and Juliette Gréco.
