The Bright Side of A Giant
As a lover of contemporary rock music, I love the Blue Balls Festival. My first collaboration with the festival was in 2016. The Galerie Vitrine showed concert photographs from the Blue Balls archive. This year, I put Joeggu Hossmann on the gallery’s programme for the festival period. This Bernese artist has achieved international success painting musicians such as Amy Winehouse, Lana del Rey and Jimmy Page from YouTube videos. The decision of the organiser, Verein Luzerner Blues Session, to cancel the Blue Balls Festival 2022 surprised, disappointed and dismayed me and many others. We look forward to 2023 and will be staying on the air by bringing a little bit of Blue Balls to the Vitrine. Joeggu Hossmann will be bringing the band Amarillo Brillo, from Thun, along to the opening. In addition, the members of the Vitrine Team will be putting on gems from their vinyl record collections during the six-week exhibition.
