Small and incredibly colourful
Do you remember the „Farb Bombe“ (colour bomb)? This was the name of the last exposition by Sämi Hofmann at Galerie Vitrine. Now this Lucerne artist surprises with new works. They all feature his unique and unmistakeable style: sometimes cheerful, sometimes gaudy and always colourful. It is nice to see some of his work again.
The same applies to SIRUP, a group of Lucerne artists. 20 years ago each of the five well-known illustrators displayed 365 pictures in the format of 85.60 x 53.98 millimetres at the Kulturpanorama. A painting, a print or a drawing stands for one day of the year. Now the five have repeated their action. To the alert eye of the visitor more than 1’800 individual pieces become a long and quiet stream of moods and impressions. It is the perfect contrast to Sämi Hofmann’s extensive colour bombs.
By the way: The size of 85.60 x 53.98 millimetres corresponds to the standard format of a credit card. So if you carry a credit card
- or happen to be in a spending mood – you can take away your favourite SIRUP picture right now.
