Every future grows old
«I’ve always had great respect for icon painting. It is the purest form of art. That’s why I try as much as possible to remain faithful to its characters, techniques and materials. I am aware that my works may lead to misinterpretations, but the nature of my work is an attempt to show reality and to cause us to reflect; on the question of whether we have changed the world for the better, for example. – I prepared this exhibition in Switzerland over Christmas. It was a mystical experience. It changed the way I interact with the basic materials, with the wood, the gold and the pigment. My works will be displayed in Germany, Spain, Italy and Russia, but Lucerne has given me an energy, the nature of which I can’t yet explain.»
