Survey of Unexpected Coherences
The title has been deliberately chosen to be cryptic and may be read ironically as, in such a highly complex world as ours, the creation and exhibition of an overview of unexpected connections is daring: even for an artist such as Davix, who has seen and done it all and who operates at various ends of the painting scale. However, it is precisely this impossibility of comprehending what the world contains in its very core which stimulates artists to keep trying “it” again and again. Davix brings together contrasts; he composes his pictures with colours which seemingly could not possibly go together. During his work process, the painter dives deep into the thicket of ornamentation which deliberately ventures out of accepted patterns, he dismantles shapes, lets them collide with one another, and constructs them anew. His works speak of the pure delight and joy of uncertainty.
