Polyrhythmic Sabotage
Davix explores the conditions and possibilities of painting. He is a border crosser between geometric and gestural abstraction. On the one hand, he emphasises the artist's movements and actions when creating his paintings, relying on intuition and chance, while on the other, he plans and constructs his works with the utmost precision. Some of his paintings went through several phases of chaos and order, were partially erased or sometimes completely destroyed - other paintings were created according to plan or are the result of a spontaneous storm of brushstrokes. "Sensations for the optic nerves" was the headline LZ culture journalist Urs Bugmann once used in his art report on an exhibition by Davix. There is no better way to put it.
