Christa Mayrhofer (*1956, Haslach, Austria) is regarded as one of the leading figures of contemporary Austrian painting. Her work is distinguished by a unique visual language in which colour, form, and composition merge into an exceptional harmony. With great sensitivity, she creates independent pictorial spaces of remarkable depth, luminosity, and expression. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, she graduated in 1996 from the master class of Gunter Damisch. Her works have been exhibited internationally for many years and are represented in important public and private collections.
